Before getting into tattooing, I was studying Law. But my heart was always in art. Deep down I always knew I belonged in a creative field somewhere I could express myself visually. Law just wasn’t that place for me.
My journey into tattooing started with my childhood friend, Saiyam Patel. Watching him work made something click for me. I realized this was exactly the medium I had been looking for. Once I finished my studies, I reached out to him and told him I wanted to pursue tattooing seriously. Saiyam welcomed me with open arms, became my mentor, and trained me properly. Under him, my skills got sharper and the way I looked at art completely changed.
The learning was intense. I took everything I already had sketching, YouTube art tutorials and started applying it on skin. Every single day felt like a chance to learn something new and get better. Every drawing, every session, I treated it like one more step towards getting where I wanted to be.
In 2020, shortly after joining Sam Studio, I entered my first competition at the Bangalore Tattoo Convention. I gave it everything I had. But I didn’t win a trophy that time. Instead of feeling low about it, I made a quiet promise to myself next time, I’m coming back for the win.
That moment came in 2023 at the Kolkata Tattoo Convention. I was awarded 1st Runner Up in the Best Large Color category. Standing on that stage felt like a dream. Hearing Saiyam and my teammates cheering for me is something I’ll never forget. It felt like all those years of hard work had finally paid off.
Today the journey has come full circle. After years of learning and growing, I’ve been appointed as a Mentor at the academy to guide new students and help them build their skills. Every time I teach, I go back to my own first day: the nervousness, the excitement, the hunger to learn. That feeling never really leaves you.
I’m truly grateful to Saiyam Patel and my family for always believing in me and supporting me through everything. Their support has been the reason I’m standing where I am today.
Art is a never-ending journey. Never stop learning, keep building new skills every day, and let your work inspire others. And most importantly never give up.
